PARIS CROISSANT

Paris Croissant is a bakery in Korea. You can think of it as a level-up of "Paris Baguette," which, I personally really, really, dislike. (Poor quality, bland concepts, and horrendous americanos — a last resort of all resorts when it comes to pastries, coffees and last minute quick-bites). Paris Croissant on the other hand is a classier venue with fairly decent sandwiches and cafe lattes that are intriguingly on par for taste.

A make-shift Paris? Definitely, probably, and most certainly not. I'd like to fantasize that the cafes in France are far more breathe-taking than cafes in Korea that remorsefully use "Paris" in their name. However, I am a sucker for classy spaces both visually attractive and cozy. I laid eyes on the marble tables and dusty purple textiles and I just couldn't help myself! With that, tonight's experience was surprisingly pleasant. I wouldn't insist anybody to visit, but I thought camping out at Hang-gang-jin's Paris Croissant was a blog-worthy event. Or, maybe I'm finding excuses to procrastinate. Maybe. Blogging really should be the last thing on my mind —ah, priorities! — back to work I go.

DIORSKIN FOREVER

Makeup is one of the best obsessions in my opinion, (after shoes, maybe) so celebrate with me as I share my latest discovery in foundation: Diorskin Forever Flawless Perfection Fusionwear. What an exquisite name! I've been a liquid wearer for nearly five years now and for a meticulous personality like mine, it's an absolute non-negotiable for color and finish be on par to my likings. ("Natural," "mineral," "pure," all that good-for-the-face hype is not nearly as appealing to me for some reason).

Contrary to my previous liquid purchases (I've used Prescriptive's Flawless Skin foundation as well Shu Uemura's Face Architect Foundation — two of my favorites amongst the plethora I've dabbled with) this one, I find actually lives up to it's claims. Flawless finish? Pretty dang close. With a nice balance between sheer and thick — and perhaps one of the few thick-end foundations light enough to layer — the silky texture applies rather seamlessly and leaves you with a glowy, sub-matte finish. The smell? Delicious and fragrant. I'll probably be hawking out a powder mineral based foundation for the summer, but in the meantime, this high-end snag Diorskin Forever, has won me. Thank you to my dear Korean aunt who has graciously gifted me with this pleasant surprise. An invest-worthy makeup product? This woman definitely holds keys to my heart.

REMINISCENCE

A little throwback, if I may. I'm sitting in front of my computer over lunch break trying to rummage through my thoughts to figure out what to flush out in this post, but I am not getting much of anything. As you probably will soon find out, I very much advocate the therapeutic nature of self-portraits, or 'selfies' if you will, so keep that in mind if you click on posts like this thinking it's something more substantial. All I can say is, I cannot wait until my hair grows out. Yes I think that is all, ciao for now.

GREEN CLOUD CAFE

A rainy saturday afternoon brought me to one of my favorite cafes in Seoul, a classic go-to spot since my friend Clara and I spontaneously and curiously stepped foot in it back in 2011. The cafe culture in Korea is rather dynamic, granted no one really has the transportation means to go elsewhere after lunch. To that, I'd say there's no better place to "study," get lost in conversation, or indulge in a cup o' coffee than Green Cloud. With big windows to usher in the sun, the two-floor cafe is masterfully disguised with gorgeous warm lights to keep you in, even on grey days like today. If you're looking for spacious, bright, and artsy, Green Cloud Cafe hits the spot.
